When God gives you a Gift!

Published by admin at 4:19 am under Down's Syndrome, Parenthood

Today, I had a conversation with a new mom.  She gave birth recently to a little boy with Down’s syndrome.  She had no idea before giving birth that she was having this special little boy.  Right now she is overwhelmed by the doctor appointments and the differences in the way he is compared to his older sister.  A mutual friend gave her my name and email to talk to.. It seems that since I have identical twins with Down’s I might know something.  Of course my down’s boys were number 8 and 9 on the hit parade, but my specialty seems to be special needs children.  I often wonder why God trusted me with these two angels.  Does he really think I can do this job?  Does he think I can really raise these two special boys to be an example to the rest of the world?  I don’t know… There are days I wish they were more like their older bother by a minute who is normal, but on the other side of the coin are they normal and he is special?  I really don’t know.

What I do know or hope is that God gave me the greatest gift in the world Triplets that lived!  After multiple surgeries and multiple hospitalizations they are alive.  So I would like to say thank you for giving me a gift that I don’t always appreciate, but dearly love.  And for giving me the opportunity to show the world that my boys are special!! and always will be no matter what anyone says…
