It’s Spring?

Today my husband told me it was the first day of Spring.  How wonderful, except it was snowing as he told me.  Then to make it even better, our furnace wasn’t working and it will be in the 20’s tomorrow.   Also up here in Maine it is time for the Maple Boil’s.  We are going to take the boys to that this year.  It should be very intersting.  I had never had real Maple syrup until moving here and it is so worth the cost.  A little bit will do so much.

Today was also the day to see teachers about the kids and get the new report cards.  My son is very smart, but he is over active.  The question is ”is he hyperactive” or is he just a boy.  Personally, I think he is just bord and probably has some form or dyslexia. The teacher is not quite sure, but she will check with his speech teacher to see what is going on with him.  Yesterday, before I forget, my eldest son called me and he told he had gotten a tatoo.  Oh how lovely, except that it is a set of praying hands with a memorial to his two sisters Aimee and Carrie.  It has been awhile since we lost them, but we all still miss them so much.  Next week we have IEP’s for the boys, Paul and Alex and we shall see how they tested.  Hopefully, we will find that they are doing better and know more than was expected.

As far as work goes this week, I have ordered T-shirts to wear so people will know what I do and I have also put the magnetic signs on my cars.  Now I just need to start going out more often with my button about how I have lost weight.  So hope you week has been going well and that Spring is in your area.

Another Storm Coming!

Published by Sandy under Working from home, cooking, food, snow

Wow what a week!  I have made part of my goals for the month.  No telling what I’ve missed, but thats ok.  I am going to have a great March.  I made it to the store for the week and have purchased food for the boys, so can’t get much better at this point.  We are expecting 6 -12 inches of snow over night and have no plans for the weekend.  It should be exciting to be able to read and plan for the new month.

When parents start to plan their business strategy for the month, it probably is not best to wait for the last minute, but I think for me it works.  I have a number I need to hit by the end of December to be where I want and I will just have to divide it by 10.  That will give me goal one.  Goal 2 is simple.  Just add 2 new consultants a month and I am on track.  Now I just need to be tough.  So the other thing is to work on my meals for the month.  Oh well, so much for being a parent and hoping for a good year.  Have a great weekend and stay warm.

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!!!

Published by admin under Parenthood, cooking, snow

Oh how it did snow yesterday.  The kids were in school for a whole 2-3 hours.  Our ground was green and peaking through the ice that was left from the last thaw….then in a blink of the eye, the world was white.  It was so bad that Thierry even had to work from home…

I cooked Lunch and Dinner.  Chilli for lunch and gumbo for Dinner, it must have worked, because the boys forgot to ask for dessert… I even managed to have an online party last night in my nightgown… What a life!!  To think I use to go to work and slave for some one else.  Now I just slave for my family.  Life is good.  What is it Mel Brookes said, “it’s good to be the king!”  For me I guess it would be the queen.

So now the boys are at school, I can rest for a bet, and then transform once again into “SUPERMOM”!  The life we are forced to lead… Have a great day folks and enjoy your weather… I know I will.

Mr. Snowman

My husband and son went outside the other day and made a snowman.  Then we had a heat wave.  Guess what, I looked out the window and the snowman was missing his head!! It had fallen off because of the snow.  How strange!! LOL  What a site, a headless snowman!!!

This week on the show, Sandra Lynch, shows us how to save money on our taxes and things to discuss with our tax preparer..  It is so hard to believe that the New Year is just around corner.  So much to do and so little time.  Having a home based business is not easy, but it can be fun.  It is also wonderful to be able to work anytime of the day in any condition.  Tell me about your business… I would love to start a section about your business.

Housekeeping:  Next week we have Kim Emerson about having a Prosperous New Year

Sickness and the Holidays

Well I know it is close to Christmas, the kids are starting to get sick!! One is having problems with his stomach and the other has a sore throat and ear infection….  The joys of parenthood.  However I wouldn’t change it for anything in the world. This weekend was not the easiest for me, but this week will be better.  The children will be out of school for the Holiday break starting Dec 22 and go back to school on Jan 2nd as long as we aren’t snowed in….  I have started to follow Ginger Marks advice from this weeks show and am concentrating on my new at home business.  This Blog and Pod Cast are my joy, but it doesn’t bring in any bacon yet.

Like many others, I was tempted to join everything and actually did put down money on three businesses.  All three are wonderful, but right now I want to focus on ONE!  Then when that one is going well and is basically on autopilot, I will start to work the one of the others and eventually, I guess I will have all three going.  The three businesses are: Belly Buster Diet, Inc, Tupperware and Jockey Person 2 Person.  I will be focusing on Belly Buster Diet for a number of reasons: 1) I need to lose weight, 2) there is no program like it on the market, 3) I believe in the product and what it stand for, 4) the owner/President is a very loving and kind woman and I want to follow her.

As to the Jockey business, it is also a great company that has not been around a long time, and I would like to mention their Operation Comfey Pillow, the goal is to gather 1000 pillows to send to the troupes overseas.  The cost is $22 and that includes shipping and handling.  The retail cost is $31.00.  Please contact me to order one or two.  I will send you the forms by email and give you the rest of the information.  Please think of them this holiday season.

Ideas and the Snow is Falling!!

Published by admin under Maine, Shopping, christmas, cooking, food, holidays, snow

I realize this is going to get boring, but it snowed again this morning.  Coming from Texas, I assumed snow was just wet stuff that fell on you and made a mess… It’s not.  Here you can see the actual shape of each flake.  It is just amazing.  One of our sons is having a little trouble with the snow over-stimulating his senses, but he is going to make it.  Alex has a few autistic tendencies, but on the whole it is not an issue.

So what about Christmas?  Stephanie has made a few suggestions with her Pampered Chef business and I know I have a few ideas about food, but what else can we do?  I know that Nicole over at Itchin to Scrap has some adorable purses and of course Misty had some grate ideas with her Tupperware, but is that all there is?

One year I made outfits for my girls, who are now 21 and 19, but at the time it was cute.  I took a White Sweat shirt and then ironed on a Santa Clause Print I found.  Then I outlined it with sewing glitter from the craft store.  Or one year I made a gift for my sister-in-law.  I took a 12 inch Styrofoam cone and attached inexpensive ornaments to it with hot glue.  I went all the way around and up that cone and she had an unusual Christmas tree as a decoration.  Christmas is not about cost, but about thought.  One year I even bought a couple of photo albums. I then covered them with fabric that matched the personality of the recipient. They are still used.  So check out some simple crafts and see what you can come up with.  My mom use to take a shoe box and line it with foil.  Then she filled it with cookies… What a memory.  So think, don’t just fill out a check.  Make a wonderful memory this year

Then God said Let it Snow!! And it DID!!!

Published by admin under holidays, snow

Well, we survived our first snow storm and as my son noticed the sun was out, but the snow is still there.  We have put together two shows so far and we seem to be on a role.  The show for next week will have a special guest as always and we will be taking about the holidays.  The charity for the week has been picked and there is a new recipe just for the cold weather.   I hope that the holiday season goes well for all, no matter your religious affiliation.  So from my house to yours, have a wonderful weekend and stay warm.

We got Snow

Published by admin under christmas, snow

Wow, it is really snowing now.  The temp is in the low 20’s and we are expecting more snow.  It’s still beautiful.  With the holidays coming, I might actually get to see my first White Christmas.

While I was listening to the Radio this afternoon, I overheard a comment about a tradition at a callers home to bake a Birthday Cake to Celebrate Christ’s Birthday.  I realize that not everyone is Christian, but for those that are it is something to think about.  Christmas should be about doing something for others as a way of giving thanks.  Nicole Pereira is doing that with her scrapbook materials business.  She is going to collect enough materials to make 400 packets for children and young adults who have nothing.  Many of the children are in foster care and are required to have Memory Books.  If you have materials sitting around or you would like to help Nicole out, please go to her site to see what you can do.  www.Itchintoscrap.com .

Also for additional ideas on what to give as gifts or make for the holidays, Nicole has some wonderful ideas on her site as well as items that are already made.  So swing by and let her know what you need or ask for help.

Stay Warm and thanks for being part of such a wonderful family
