Spring is here and it’s a wonderful Day

Published by admin under Maine, Shows, spring

Hi and welcome to the end of April.  It is a wonderful day and it was a great weekend.  Our family has now been in Maine for a year and are enjoying our time here.  There are a few differences from Texas, but the mentality is close to the same.  The snow is different and not using a AC Unit is also new, but we are hopeful for the coming Spring and Fall.

I hope you all enjoy this weeks show and that Spring is finally here?

When its hard to follow your heart!

This week’s guest is Ginger Marks and she is a very smart woman.  Ginger’s business is helping folks in business and she offers some very good advice.  I personally am following the advice she has given and feel much better.

It is so hard to follow your heart, but for those of us who work at home, isn’t that why we are at home?  I want to be available for my boys.  When a doctor’s visit comes up or a hospital visit happens, I don’t want to have to feel bad because my children come first.  As I explained to another mother with special needs children, I just want to be able to pick up the Laptop and head off to the hospital and know I am still able to work.  Who is going to know where I am, but me?  I also like the ability to be an adult again.  It was getting kind of hard to talk to short people under the age of 10 and have a meaningful conversation.  So to those who are already working from home.  Bravo!! To those looking for ideas of what’s out there, keep listening… Finally to those looking for a shot in the arm and some help from experts, they are here too… Enjoy the show and keep reading the blog to see what is happening with our guests present, past and future.

HousekeepingTupperware suffered a fire recently at one of their warehouses, but according to Misty Kearn, they are trying to keep up and are bringing things in from other countries to help.  If you would like to give Tupperware as a gift for the holidays, you can give Gift Certificates this year…  To see what Tupperware has to offer, you can follow this link  Tupperware . Also, if you are looking for a special gift to give in someone’s name or just because you want to, Operation Comfey Pillow is still on with Jockey.  The cost is $22.00 and the goal has been set at 1000 pillows.  For more information on this, you can contact me

Ideas and the Snow is Falling!!

Published by admin under Maine, Shopping, christmas, cooking, food, holidays, snow

I realize this is going to get boring, but it snowed again this morning.  Coming from Texas, I assumed snow was just wet stuff that fell on you and made a mess… It’s not.  Here you can see the actual shape of each flake.  It is just amazing.  One of our sons is having a little trouble with the snow over-stimulating his senses, but he is going to make it.  Alex has a few autistic tendencies, but on the whole it is not an issue.

So what about Christmas?  Stephanie has made a few suggestions with her Pampered Chef business and I know I have a few ideas about food, but what else can we do?  I know that Nicole over at Itchin to Scrap has some adorable purses and of course Misty had some grate ideas with her Tupperware, but is that all there is?

One year I made outfits for my girls, who are now 21 and 19, but at the time it was cute.  I took a White Sweat shirt and then ironed on a Santa Clause Print I found.  Then I outlined it with sewing glitter from the craft store.  Or one year I made a gift for my sister-in-law.  I took a 12 inch Styrofoam cone and attached inexpensive ornaments to it with hot glue.  I went all the way around and up that cone and she had an unusual Christmas tree as a decoration.  Christmas is not about cost, but about thought.  One year I even bought a couple of photo albums. I then covered them with fabric that matched the personality of the recipient. They are still used.  So check out some simple crafts and see what you can come up with.  My mom use to take a shoe box and line it with foil.  Then she filled it with cookies… What a memory.  So think, don’t just fill out a check.  Make a wonderful memory this year

Getting something for nothing?

Published by admin under Charities, Maine, Making Money

I can’t believe how stupid I am.  Have you ever seen a qive me on the web?  Thought you were getting it for $1.97 and then found out later there was fine print somewhere and it cost you an additional $39.95 every month?  I just did!  I was on-line checking the bank  balance and realised I had really screwed up… I called to cancel and of course, they can do that, but they can’t reverse the charge.  They will let me excend my cut off date.  I really could just scream.

If your looking for a way to make money this holiday season or just in general, I would humbley suggest you look around and do some research before cutting off your nose.  Take your time and see what really fits.  I have looked as so many companies over the last few weeks and have found some that interest me and others that I realy don’t care about, just take your time.  I’m not into scrapbooking, but I found a wonderful gal who has found a use for the products and uses them to personalize items for clients.  Go look at Nicole’s site and see for yourself and while your there look at her special project for the holiday season.  www.itchintoscrap.com

Enjoy the weather folks and keep warm.  It was a whole 7 degrees this morning up in Maine
