July 28th Sandy Kilkenny and Dove Chocolates

Wow!  A business that lets me eat chocolate?  What an exciting business to be in and this week we have Sandy Kilkenny on to talk about the new Dove’s Chocolate Business.  I can already taste the goodness.  The foundation this week is Give Kids the World.  This is a great place that helps families feel “normal” in non-normal times.  The recipe is Greek Still Skillet Supper.  Hope you all have a great week while I’m in Dallas with temps in the 100’s!!

It’s the Middle of JULY! Is Christmas around the corner?

Hi and welcome to Monday.  It is the middle of July and there is so much going on.  We have had a bit of a heat wave up here in Maine, but still only have window units on.  It is so much different than living in the Deep South…

Today’s show focuses on Autism.  What it is and how it affects families.  Currently we are waiting for an appointment to have our son evaluated for autism to see what the best way is to help him.  This weeks show and next weeks will help you and answer questions if autism is part of your family too.

It’s a new week and What a wonderful Holiday

Happy Memorial Day to you all.  To all the families that have lost a loved one in Military service, Thank You.   So many people don’t understand the significance of this holiday.  In WWII, I lost 2 of my Uncles who were in the service, one in the Navy and one in the Marine Corp.  It is amazing that even though I was born 20 years later, I still appreciate the sacrifice my grandparents made when they gave their boys to the Government to keep us all safe.  Now I have 5 sons of my own and my eldest is now registered for the draft if it is ever reactivated.  I also have friends who’s sons and daughters have been over seas in Iraq or other foreign ports and are now back.  It is a hard life for all.  Fortunately non of my friends have lost thier children, but they are prepared.  So Thank you America for Caring and giving us your best..

This weeks guest is Shirley Dobbins from America’s Harvest.  The foundation of the week is the 4H Council of America .  There is of course a Recipe this week.  Our advertisers this week are: Elizabeth DeArmond, Belly Buster Diet, The Breast Cancer Site

Day 7 of feed your family on $450 a month

Today it was back to school and I had a number of things to do besides trying to get the show back on the air.  That unfortunately didn’t work.  So for dinner tonight I made a special dinner.  I roasted a chicken 5.54 and then we had saffron rice 1.69 with peas .50.  Simple and easy plus I can use the left over chicken tomorrow. The total for the meal was 7.73 with leaves me a balance of 284.22 - 7.73 = 276.49

Thierry went to the doctor today and had some wonderful news.  His lab work came back with low to normal readings and he is down 48 lbs.  His doctor is happy and so is he!  Belly Buster Diet Works.  See I told you so!!!

This weeks guest on Work at Home Family is Laura Beulke with Vertical Printing and Graphics.  I hope you enjoy the show.

It’s Spring?

Today my husband told me it was the first day of Spring.  How wonderful, except it was snowing as he told me.  Then to make it even better, our furnace wasn’t working and it will be in the 20’s tomorrow.   Also up here in Maine it is time for the Maple Boil’s.  We are going to take the boys to that this year.  It should be very intersting.  I had never had real Maple syrup until moving here and it is so worth the cost.  A little bit will do so much.

Today was also the day to see teachers about the kids and get the new report cards.  My son is very smart, but he is over active.  The question is ”is he hyperactive” or is he just a boy.  Personally, I think he is just bord and probably has some form or dyslexia. The teacher is not quite sure, but she will check with his speech teacher to see what is going on with him.  Yesterday, before I forget, my eldest son called me and he told he had gotten a tatoo.  Oh how lovely, except that it is a set of praying hands with a memorial to his two sisters Aimee and Carrie.  It has been awhile since we lost them, but we all still miss them so much.  Next week we have IEP’s for the boys, Paul and Alex and we shall see how they tested.  Hopefully, we will find that they are doing better and know more than was expected.

As far as work goes this week, I have ordered T-shirts to wear so people will know what I do and I have also put the magnetic signs on my cars.  Now I just need to start going out more often with my button about how I have lost weight.  So hope you week has been going well and that Spring is in your area.
