Spring is here and it’s a wonderful Day

Published by Sandy under Maine, Shows, spring

Hi and welcome to the end of April.  It is a wonderful day and it was a great weekend.  Our family has now been in Maine for a year and are enjoying our time here.  There are a few differences from Texas, but the mentality is close to the same.  The snow is different and not using a AC Unit is also new, but we are hopeful for the coming Spring and Fall.

I hope you all enjoy this weeks show and that Spring is finally here?

Welcome to Monday and day 21 in our series!

Today we not only have a new show available with Amy Arnold, but we also have more menues for your family.

Today on the funny side of life, my 8 year old son managed to get through a lock and into our kitchen to cook.  The funny part to the story is that Alex has Down’s and functions at about a 4-5 year old age.  His cooking consisted of 18 eggs, leftover chicken, a bottle of Ranch Dressing, Baking Powder and ketchup.  I’m not sure what he was going for, but atleast it didn’t take as long to clean up as last time…

$450 a month for meals day 10

Published by admin under $450 a month eating

Today is Boy Scouts and Michael has a field trip to the Fire Station.  We need to make an easy dinner that Robbie can feed to Paul and Alex as well as leaving something for Mike if he is still hungry later.  The obvious solution was to make Cal-zone.  So for ingredients we need pizza dough .79, ricotta cheese .80, pepperoni 1.00, and pizza cheese 1.99. The total for today’s meal is 4.58.  That will give us a balance of  268.56 - 4.58 = 263.98

Day 8 of Feed a family of 6 on $450 a month

Published by admin under $450 a month eating, spring

What a wonderful day!  The sun is shining and no hint of snow!  Maybe it really is spring!  I actually went out today and bought plants for the yard so I’m trying to get into the mood.  Hope it holds.

For todays meal, I am using the remainder of the roasted chicken I had yesterday .00, pizza dough .79, pesto sauce 2.69, mushrooms 1.00 and pizza cheese 1.99.  It is a gourmet pizza fit for kings or atleast a number of hungry men… The total for the day is 4.47.  So we have  276.49 - 4.47 = 272.02

Day 7 of feed your family on $450 a month

Today it was back to school and I had a number of things to do besides trying to get the show back on the air.  That unfortunately didn’t work.  So for dinner tonight I made a special dinner.  I roasted a chicken 5.54 and then we had saffron rice 1.69 with peas .50.  Simple and easy plus I can use the left over chicken tomorrow. The total for the meal was 7.73 with leaves me a balance of 284.22 - 7.73 = 276.49

Thierry went to the doctor today and had some wonderful news.  His lab work came back with low to normal readings and he is down 48 lbs.  His doctor is happy and so is he!  Belly Buster Diet Works.  See I told you so!!!

This weeks guest on Work at Home Family is Laura Beulke with Vertical Printing and Graphics.  I hope you enjoy the show.

Day 5 of Feeding Your Family for $450 a month

Published by admin under $450 a month eating, Parenthood

Well it’s time for something different for a meal.  Tonight it was easy.  I will be making Beef Cal-zone.  You will need 1 lb of beef, 1 prepared pizza dough, 1 bag of pizza cheese, 1/4 cup of Swiss Cheese, 1/4 Cup of Cheddar Cheese, 1 Cup of Ricotta cheese and 1 t of Italian Seasoning.  The cost for the meal is:  Beef 1.97, Dough .69, Pizza Cheese 1.99, Swiss Cheese .25, Cheddar Cheese .25, Ricotta Cheese .82 and Seasoning .89(cost of the jar) = 6.86 which gives us a balance of $403.65.

Today was Boy Scouts to the Library.  I learned that I had forgotten to return 3 DVD’s and now have a past due amount of $64.00 in fines.  Never again.  Actually, the boys had lost the video’s and with all the other exciting things going on, I had forgotten.  so, hopefully at the end of the month, I will have the extra to pay the library and then can check out books again.  The other exciting thing is that my 8 year old has discovered Star Wars.  While I grew up on what later became episodes 4, 5, & 6 now I am having to learn all about 1,2 & 3.  Way to go Mom,  I think…  Have a great weekend.
