I’ve got a cold in My Nose!

Published by Sandy under Parenthood, Working from home, illness

Well I think its a cold.. My nose is having fits and my CPAP is kicking back when I try to use it.  So how am I going to balance being Mom, Wife and business owner?  Right now I am doing alot of Email.  It is amazing to me how much the world has changed in the last 20 years.  I got my first computer in the early ’80’s.  Then we got our first Real Computer in 1984.  In 1992, I was taking courses on line and sending email back to the USA so I could keep my folks updated on life in Indonesia.  Now I use my computer to talk to friends, attend meetings and hold parties.   What will be next?

I must admit I enjoy the computer and the fact that I can work at any time of the day, be dressed in practically anything and still get a great deal done.  My children will often come in the office once they are home from school and of course begin to complain because I am not available to them when they want me to be available.  But thats life….  So now I help the family by working at home and hoping that my income will eventually meet my old time salary and beyond.  If I have anything to say about it, it will.

Have a great day and try to stay health…

Balancing Hospitals and Working

Well only a week to go before the surgery, but I am ok.  A week of fluids only is not exciting, but you do get creative.  Thierry is so funny, he suggested that I take the laptop with me when I go in next week so I can work>>> I’m not sure if he’s nuts or just trying to be helpful.  Today I do go into do the final work before the big day.  They took more blood, had me use a cup and then an EKG.. Hope I passed it all.  Just want to get it all done.

As to business, well I have a new lead and have 5 consultants under me.  So I am making progress.  I have decided to add a new business since I am always looking for things for the boys, so I will tell you all more about that later, but my Main focus is Belly Busters Diet and this Program/Podcast/Blog.  I enjoy working on this is seems to allow me the opportunity to vent and also to share the funnies of my Parenting life.

Today we picked up the twins and it seems one can manipulate the other… Like Duh!!  Also, my bitter was fine, then bent down and bit the teachers shoe?  I don’t get it?  I really don’t!  Now the eldest boy is calling to make sure I know he needs a lap top for college in the Fall… Isn’t it still January and college is in late August or early September?  Am I missing something.  Oh well, we shall see.  Hopefully, I will have made enough money in the first half of the year to get all our college kids new computers and laptops… SO keep posted for the continuing saga…

Saturday as Mom!

Published by admin under Parenthood, Winter

I saw the craziest thing yesterday!!  We have a park not far from our house.  Thursday evening my husband came home and told me he had seen the city watering an area of the park?  I didn’t get it.  It was -3 outside and someone was watering?  So Friday on the way to take the kids to school, I looked over and there was a large area that had been cleared with snow around the banks. In that clearing was ice!!!  They had made an ice rink!! Never in all my years had I seen anything like it.

Now being a good mother, I took Michael to the store to look for ice skates of his own.  The first store was out, so we went to another used specialty store and found hockey skates for him.  We went home and told dad, who was very busy… So after much fussing and whinning, I took Robbie and Michael to the park.  There was one little girl skating with her parents watching.  So mom helped Mike with the skates and there he went.  I was so proud of him it was his second time on the ice and he was terrific… It was like watching his older brother all over again.  A natural!  I’m not sure where this will lead, but it was a real kick not only seeing Michael skate, but knowing that in the spring the rink will be gone.

We went Ice Skating!

Balancing working and parenting can some times be a real chore, but today , I realy want to share two exciting things that happened.  Thursday’s are Scout Days here and Michael is a Bear.. so we got to go ice skating at our Den leaders house on his POND!! Can you imagine?? I always thought skating happened inside on a rink with the ice cream shop on the next level.  The first time I went skating was at the Galleria in Houston when it was only 3 levels… Now my son has gone for the first time, but on a pond and he did so well.  I am so proud of him…

Then to make life even better, I actually have a business that I do besides my talk radio program.  I had been complaining that I haven’t gotten alot of business, but Ihave gotten a number of consultants under me.  They are all doing well, it is just me.  Well today I did one more online party… and I got a new client!!! I am so excited.  So as I right this, the triplets are asleep in my bed, Thierry is at work and I am so excited.  Thank you all for letting me share with you… Thats what makes working at home a joy, when we all win!!!

When the grades come in.

Published by admin under Down's Syndrome, Parenthood

Well, what a day!  My sons were sent home today after getting into trouble…  One bit a girl and the other scratched a girl.  The question for me is why?  They both have Down’s syndrome, so I have no idea why… Then my smart son came home with his progress report and had a “D” and 2 “C’s”!! Can you still see the steam rising off my head!!  Then child number 4 comes in with his progress report…Not too bad, except for can’t keep his mouth shut..

I sent out 4 emails to teachers today.  Just waiting for the response…  Parenthood is not for sissy’s…

By the way anyone interested in being a guest on the show, please feel free to email me any time…
